Here's a map pack of 8 maps for Zero Hour. Many of them are made for no-rush style play, made for building up your base before attacking. The maps range in. Dec 15, 2008 The Ultimate Generals/Zero Hour map pack(s): 2507 maps! # 1 tham007 Nov 7 2008, 22:34 PM I decided to make this topic since there's no Generals/ZeroHour mapping section. This is the first time I mark history not only in the CNC community but also in 3D RTS gaming history on giving away those huge 3D map pack(s). Neither Warcraft III, LOTR.

The .7z files can be opened either with WinRAR, 7-Zip or PowerArchiver. Not all versions of WinRAR can open .7z files correctly. I cannot guarantee that all maps will work regardless if there are missing files for those maps. When you place those skirmish or mission maps, the location of putting them is as according to OS.
For XP users:

Zero Hour Maps: C:Documents and Settingsyour user nameMy DocumentsCommand and Conquer Generals Zero Hour DataMaps
For Vista users:
Generals Maps: C:Usersyour user nameAppDataRoamingCommand and Conquer Generals DataMaps
Zero Hour Maps: C:Usersyour user nameAppDataRoamingCommand and Conquer Generals Zero Hour DataMaps
For mission maps, all you have to do is to extract them into 'My Documents' folder regardless of which OS you are using.
Credits to all the people of the CNC community who made those skirmish and mission maps especially the former EA Pacific dev team.
Please note this:
To add something about the map pack, please do not attempt to put all maps into the map folder, otherwise the program will slow down, unless if you have a fast PC. It appears the limit amount of placing custom skirmish and mission maps into the map folder is at least one hundred. Despite the numerous amount of maps, you probably don't have all the time to play all of them. You should decide which good maps you want to play and put them in the map folder. With all that being said, enjoy playing those maps.

QUICK_EDIT
Hey there: Probably a stupid question, but I'm having trouble finding how to do this. Feeling stupid I guess:
Can someone direct me on how to 'install' afermarket/custom maps in C&C Generals:ZH. I downloaded the maps, put the tga and map files in what appeared to be the appropriate directories. no dice. they won't show up as playable maps on the list. none of the custom maps had any directions on them other than 'drop in the directory'. Did that, didn't work.
I must be missing something and I'm too dense to figure it out.
help? link?
